Default Scenario: Kill Shot

Scenario: Kill Shot

The "Kill Shot" is a prediction popularized by Major Ed Dames (A former head of training and operations for a military remote viewing unit). The prediction is that 90% of the earths population will be wiped out by a massive solar flare (kill shot). Before the main solar flare there is suppose to be a bombardment of smaller solar flares that will weaken the earths magnetosphere and so when the main one hits... it will cause massive damage. Ed Dames has had a few hits and he's had plenty of misses... but as always, we should prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So in this survival scenario... what would you do?

In this scenario the earth would be hit with a massive amount of radiation, light and heat. The changes in temperature would cause massive climatic changes and you could expect massive wind, fire and fallout. I'd get underground and for those of us who don't have bunkers... underground parking lots will do. If there is fire above the parking lot carbon monoxide will sink to the bottom and kill you so be very aware of what going on above you. Some underground parking lots can go way down into the earth and they'll be great because there is a ton of concrete to shield you from the radiation.

Find a vehicle and load is up with supplies and drive into these parking lots and set up camp. If you're an avid survivalist you'll have your fellow survivalist join you there by allowing you to secure the underground and defend it well.

A solar flare doesn't last long. It takes roughly 40 hours for it to reach the earth from the sun and depending on the size... it should pass within a few days at the very most. If the Kill Shot really is as big as Ed Dames predicts... you can expect a world in chaos above you. You can also expect a good amount of radiation so stay underground as much as possible and get your self a gieger counter. There will be attempts to rebuild society but if you're in a highly populated urban environment you can be sure to encounter violence so be well armed.

To summarize:
Get underground to avoid radiation (underground parking lots)
Expect violence, looting and chaos in the aftermath. Be well armed.
Prepare now and be ready at all times... There wont be any warnings.

I have heard about solar flares, of course, but how much of a chance is there (really) for such an event ever happening?

That's good advice and I'll be sure to remember it. I'm more worried about a comet invasion than I am a massive amount of solar radiation, but I suppose one is as likely as the other.

here is my problem with that story (and all of the others like it): The boy who cried wolf.

In just MY adult life:
Eggs will kill you
Chicken will kill you
There is a comet coming that will kill you
Global cooling
Global warming
smoking will kill you
second hand smoke will kill you
third hand smoke will kill you
ALAR will kill you
Pandemic Flu
SARS
Anthrax
dirty bombs
nuclear war
black men
muslims
terrorists
fundamentalist christians
AIDS
Solar flares
The Mayan calendar ending in 2012

And that's just a partial list. They keep threatening to kill me so much that I no longer listen to them.

ROTFL.
I have to agree. I've been listening to the doomsday predictions for the past 5 decades. They make for good press but I have yet to see them actually happen.

I do not wish to survive a "kill shot" If a meteor comes and hits the earth and sets us off our orbit, I don't want to survive that either. Hurricane, famine, flood, government collapse.. sure, all these things I want to survive.. but if our very own sun is trying to kill us, then I guess I'd just lay down and die.

I agree. It seems that this is one doomsday scenario that people love to talk about but is it likely to ever really happen?

I agree this seems like something that is very unlikely to happen. But this day and age you can never be sure. Almost everyday you hear of weired happening.

There must be a reason why the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012. Not having a clue myself, I started doing research ... follow the science ... Remember in 1998 when cell phones, atms, gas pumps and other electronics malfunctioned during "Solar Flares"? I didn't think about underground parking lots but that may work for the short term.

A quote that I try to live by, is one by Herbert Spencer - "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

I hope this will encourage those nay sayers to stop briefly and do a little research.

Passing through the galactic plain

There are just so many ways the Universe is out to get us. Astronomers have already considered the threat from our Sun’s orbit around the center of the Milky Way. When our Sun rises up out of flat plane of the Milky Way, it appears we might be less protected from intergalactic radiation and cosmic rays. Well, it looks like passing through the middle of the galactic plane might have its own share of risks: an increased number of comets might be hurled towards the Earth because of gravitational interaction with the densest parts of our galaxy.

Researchers at the Cardiff Centre of Astrobiology have built a computer model of the Solar System’s journey around the Milky Way. Instead of making a perfectly flat orbit around the galaxy’s centre, it actually bounces up and down. At times it can rise right up out of the galactic plane - getting 100 light years above - and then dip down below it. They calculated that we pass through the plane every 35 to 40 million years.

And this time period seems to match dangerous periods of impacts on Earth. According to the number and age of craters on Earth, we seem to suffer increased impacts every 36 million years. Uh oh, that’s a match.

In fact, one of these high points of comet activity would have been 65 million years - the same time that an asteroid strike wiped out the dinosaurs.

And here’s the bad news. According to their calculations, the Solar System will be passing through the galactic plane in the near future, and should see an increased risk of impact. Our risk of impact could increase 10-fold.

There might be a silver lining to the bounce, though. The impacts might have helped life spread across the galaxy.

While the “bounce” effect may have been bad news for dinosaurs, it may also have helped life to spread. The scientists suggest the impact may have thrown debris containing micro-organisms out into space and across the universe.

Centre director Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe said: “This is a seminal paper which places the comet-life interaction on a firm basis, and shows a mechanism by which life can be dispersed on a galactic scale.”

Default Mr. Salah

Well guys, let us not forget that we did not come here by our will nor we will leave from here at our will. As such if the grand plan includes your name in the exit list at any time, you will exit. Flare or no flare, H1N1 -- yes or no, tsunami or no tsunami.

Another valid thought that you should remember is in Gerald O'Donnel's words: You live what you think. Thought precedes manifestation. Every one makes his own reality. I bet those of you who subscribe to the views expressed in this prediction will undergo the experience whether the world really faces it or not.

JUST STAY CALM, DO AS USUAL AS YOU DO EVERY DAY. YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE AS LONG AS YOU LIVE. WHY NOT ENJOY IT AS LONG OR AS SHORT AS IT IS PLANNED FOR YOU.

The Truth: ONLY the CREATOR KNOWS when HE will end his Creation and however He choses to do it. HE loves HIS Creation more than you, me or Ed Dames.

However, the authenticity of the message of Ed Dames prediction can be judged from the statement:

"It takes roughly 40 hours for it to reach the earth from the sun and depending on the size... "

Any physics student who knows the speed of light [300,000,000 m/s] knows that it only takes four minutes for light to travel from the Sun to Earth -- whether it is flare or no flare,

Salah

Default Slight correction...

Two minor points:
1. Don't cut yourself short. You would actually have over twice as much time to live as you had figured. Takes 8.3 minutes for light to pass from the sun to earth, not 4 min. Check this link:
http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasc...9/ast99431.htm
2. Salah is generally a salutation, arabic equivellant of shalom.

this is true ....i believe Joe Mocmoneagle made this same prediction and sees a planet of under 20million people afterwords....the only way to know or prepare is to learn to remote view.
