Normally I wouldn't give out this info to just anybody but as the days go on. I feel the need to stock up on more gear and like most people I'm looking for the best deals on stuff. So if even 1 person on here can get some needed gear I'll feel better about passing this info on. Why would this person, jump into discussions, and stifle the discussion of serious issues with idiotic, simplistic, statements that challenge courtesy, logic, and the sanity of those discussions?
More importantly, what should we, as a group, do to address the problem of those who ridicule us, and strive to stifle discussion of legitimate issues? Of course, at first, efforts are made to debate, educate, and perhaps try to consider alternative points of view. For example, a hypothetical situation where a blog dedicated to environmental awareness is constantly harassed by a new member that ridicules environmentalism, seeks to offend with calls to dump trash everywhere, ridicule recycling, and so on. What should happen to that new member?
Now I will address a similar situation on our blog. This is directed at a shadowy evil doer, who will not be named, but is apparently not arab or muslum, disapproves of the UN, our wetback president and fema camps, as well as phalic symbol knives and guns, preparedness, and survivalism in general.
Why do you frequent these pages? You clearly have opinions that run contrary to those of survivalists. I strongly believe you have a right to such opinions. However, I do not feel we are obligated to provide a forum for you to attack and ridicule our opinions relentlessly.
1. You stated in other posts that you do not believe the SHTF will ever happen (Katrina?)
2. You do not huint, or participate in any shooting competitions (why can't you hunt with a single shot? You can have shooting contests with a single shot)
3. You have never skinned an animal (the only real survival knife is a lockblade folder by Wenger or Victorinox)
4. You are in favor of extremely radical gun control (I favor the assault weapon ban, single shot rifle, double shotgun, revolver...)
5. You think that caching supplies is some kind of a joke, or is in some way criminal (Self storage, easy for authorities to collect your stuff when they take you in)
6. Feel there will never be a chemical threat (this will come as a relief to homeland security, and we can now breathe easier now that there will be no chemical accidents or attacks, per this fountain of knowledge, 'hypothetical point without reason, no such szenario will occure in conus")
7. In addition to all of the above, they are a raving loon on some kind of conspiracy by "groups" who you do not ever name, but who will:
'take our guns (except for your single shot),
toss us all in fema camps,
supress any energy breakthrough inventions, and cause said inventions and inventors to disappear,
cause DEA, FBI, ... to come and arrest all survivalist groups and anyone who owns a gun (or phalic symbol knife?)
create superbugs to kill us all,
generally think all of this discussion is just "blah, blah, ...'

These evil doers, who you constantly alude to, but never name are not muslims or arabs, are part of the "new world order" and allied with the JDL and the UN, and the wetback president. I am not that fond of him, but between you, and him in my foxhole, I would take him, for sure! It seems pretty clear that this group of evil doers you speak of are the arch enemies of all good things, the evil Jews. While I am no fan of curent Israeli policies, I find the Jewish conspiracy theories to be paranoid, and offensive. You are afraid to speak out who the evil doers are, because that would open you up to logical criticism, against which, you find yourself unarmed.

Now, to the poll. I will ask this group, what would you vote for, as a means to address this problem?
1. Leave things as they are, as this encourages healthy discussion
2. Restrict said "spoiler" for a period of time, a probation of sorts.
3. Warn "spoiler" to stop, or be banned.
4. Take a binding vote, of members, via a poll, on whether to ban said "spoiler"
5. Ban

I have, in the past, been reluctant to support banning members of blogs. However, lately, I have seen the negative effect a spoiler has on frank, open discussions. I can now see that banning may be, at times, needed, to preserve the continuity of discussion, and remove those who care nothing for the blog in the first place. Therefore, I created this poll, to see if I am overly sensitive, or whether the current state of affairs has bothered other members.

Turns out this nutcase used to post on the gunandgame.com blog under the name "angler"

Reading JW Rawles "Patriots" and as a new area of my seemingly endless preparations I'd like to inquire about radios, CB in particular. What is the conventional wisdom about CBs as a primary means of communicating with other retreats or the outside world in general. Even just monitoring. There's a real nice Galaxy on Amazon for $163 with SSB. Worth it? Is there a better alternative to CB?
